Lava Fields is an immersive study of heat, motion, and botanical vitality. Dominated by oranges and molten reds, the painting reimagines marigold blossoms as fiery, sculptural forms that flare outward against a deep, cosmic backdrop. Each petal is rendered with sinuous folds and rich gradients, their edges veined with darker accents that suggest both geological strata and the natural undulations of living tissue.
 
At the heart of the central bloom, a cluster of pearly stamens glows with a soft luminosity, drawing the eye inward. A bee— colored gold and black with translucent, delicately veined wings—rests atop the flower’s core, its presence adding a sense of scale and quiet purpose.
 
Against this intensity, the smoky grays of the background and the abstracted stems provide a striking contrast, heightening the sense of heat emanating from the blossoms. Soft orbs of light float through the scene like distant stars or drifting embers, further enhancing the painting’s surreal, atmospheric quality.
