This portrait presents a child already altered, though never aware of what caused the change. The face is scorched with yellows and reds, as if harm arrived not as a visible event but as an atmosphere—something inhaled and absorbed without recognition.
 
What injured the child was never seen coming; it left no single image to remember or accuse. Instead, its presence is registered through a body that bears the mark of something unnamed.
 
The title becomes sadly ironic. The child has not seen, but the viewer has. Awareness arrives too late and belongs to someone else. In this reversal, harm that occurs to the vulnerable becomes legible only when it is already irreversible.
